Calm office setting with papers and daylight

About Aurelane

A quiet place for important papers

We started Aurelane because too many people feel overwhelmed by the paperwork that comes with pensions and retirement — not for lack of intelligence, but for lack of a calm space to look at it carefully.

Our Story

How Aurelane began

Aurelane was founded in Chiang Mai by a small group of people who had spent years watching friends, neighbours, and family members struggle with something surprisingly simple: understanding what their pension documents actually said.

The paperwork itself was rarely complicated. A statement here, a letter there, a summary of contributions that was three years old. But without a calm space to read through it — without someone to say "that line just means this" — the pile grew. Decisions got postponed. Important deadlines slipped past unnoticed.

We set out to create exactly that calm space. Not an advisory firm, not a financial service, not a legal practice — just a structured, unhurried environment where you can sit with your papers and leave knowing what each one is for.

Since opening our doors in the Nimmanhaemin area, we've worked with retirees, expats, and families from across Europe, Australia, North America, and Southeast Asia. The documents come from different countries and different pension systems, but the need is almost always the same: someone to walk through it together, without rushing.

Aurelane's name is taken from the Latin root for gold — because we think of clear information the same way. Not glamorous, just valuable. Something you want to keep safe and be able to find when you need it.

How We Work

Our standards and practices

Every Aurelane session follows a set of straightforward principles that keep the experience consistent, respectful, and genuinely useful.

Document Privacy

We never photograph, scan, or retain copies of client documents. Everything stays in the client's possession throughout.

Educational Scope Only

Our work is strictly informational. We help you understand documents — we do not advise, recommend, or interpret what actions you should take.

Unhurried Pacing

Sessions are structured but not rushed. If you need to stop and re-read something, we stop. The pace is yours to set.

Clear Service Agreements

Before any session begins, we share a written outline of what is included, what is not, and what to expect. Nothing is left ambiguous.

Post-Session Notes

After each session, we send a brief written summary of the topics covered — no personal data included, just a helpful reminder of what was discussed.

Stable Location

We operate from a consistent, accessible office in Nimmanhaemin — a familiar face and address, not a rotating set of venues or online-only services.

Pension document knowledge in Chiang Mai

The task of sorting through pension correspondence, annual statements, and contribution records is one that many people put off for years. Not because the documents are difficult, but because there is rarely a good moment — or a good space — to sit with them. Aurelane was built to be that space.

Working primarily with English-speaking residents, long-term expats, and visitors to northern Thailand, we have developed session formats that adapt to whatever a person brings through the door. Some clients arrive with a folder of neatly kept papers and want help labelling them correctly. Others arrive with a carrier bag and a degree of anxiety. Both are equally welcome.

What we offer is not a shortcut, and it's not a substitute for qualified advice when qualified advice is needed. It is, rather, a structured opportunity to understand what you already hold — so that when you do speak to a financial advisor, an accountant, or a pension authority, you walk in knowing what questions to ask and what documents to bring.

The educational value of this kind of document literacy is easy to overlook until you need it. Families who have gone through our continuity programme consistently describe the same outcome: everyone finally knows where the key papers are and what each one means. That shared understanding, built calmly and without pressure, is what Aurelane is here to help create.
